Geography of Calabria

Located in southern most part of Italy, Calabria is fast becoming the tourist destination with its beautiful breathtaking beaches, high mountains and green pine trees. It is also known as the foot of the Italian boot.

The region of calabria consists of the following provinces. They are Vibo Valentia, Reggio Calabria, Crotone, Cosenza and Catanzaro. The lower terrain of Calabria has earned the reputation for agriculture over many years with the low slopes presenting the beauty of citrus fruit orchards and vineyards.

City of Catanzaro is the capital of Calabria. The other important cities in the province of Calabria are Cosenza and Reggio Calabria.

It is present in the southwestern region of the peninsula sandwiched between the Ionic seas and Tyrrenian seas. The picturesque Apennines mountain ranges enhance the beauty of the location with lush green forests surrounding the mountain ranges. The peninsula of Calabria narrows down at the Savuto river valley.

Crystal clear coastal lines across the Mediterranean make Calabria the most lovable vacation destination in the entire continent of Europe. The narrow peninsula extending into the Mediterranean for around three hundered kilometers makes the entire region of Calabria. Pollino Mountains present in the northern region separates Calabria from Italy.
